"Voci nella Città" - 75 Years of the Polyphonic Santa Cecilia

The “Voci nella Città” International Festival is an event dedicated exclusively to polyphony; this years is on its fourth edition.

This Festival comes true thank to the support of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, to the Sassari Municipality and the Chamber of Commerce with the project “Salude & Trigu”.

The association “Polifonica Santa Cecilia” which organizes this event, celebrates this year its 75 years of activity by hosting from 8 of September to 12 of September important national, local and international choral group.

BOOKINGS

All the concerts will be performed in respect of the regulations for the live shows. For this reason it is possibile carrying out an obligatory and free reservation to control the presences. Every concert has to be reserved by using the APP Heart of Sardinia. It is also possibile reserved the remaining seats at the Polifonica Santa Cecilia’s Infopoint in the concerts locations, only 1 hour before every concert starts

FESTIVAL CALENDAR

Voci nella città

The Festival will start on Tuesday 8 September in the afternoon from Ersu Balconies in Via Coppino with the performance of the prestigious german sextet “Singer Pur” with a double-concert. At 6 pm from Ersu Balconies “Pop songs, Romantic song and folk songs” and at 9 pm, in the Ersu Conference Hall, the germa group will perform the show “Klangbilder - Bilderklang Sounding images - A feast fro eyes and ears”.

Wednesday 9 in the morning 12 am, in Li Punti’s Public Park, the White voices of the Polifonica Santa Cecilia, conducted by Sara Cuzzupoli, will perform in the final concert of the workshop with Tullio Visioli; composer, flutist, singer and choir conductor. In the afternoon, at 6 pm, in the Santa Maria of Betlem’s cloister, Singer Pur will introduce the program “Motet from Europe”. At 9 pm the show will continue with the exhibition of the Musical Association “G. Rossini”, conducted by Clara Antoniciello, with the program “Bacchus, tobacco and Venus. The double meaning of profane music” and the Polifonica Santa Cecilia, conducted by Matteo Taras which will perform the “Mass a cappella for four voices” by Claudio Monteverdi with the “Ellipsis” Ensemble.

Thursday 10 at 6 pm, in the Santa Maria of Betlem’s cloister, will be the concert of the Genoa Vocal Ensemble, a juvenil vocal complex made up of equal voices, conducted by Roberta Paraninfo with the program “Encounters and Contrasts”. At 9 pm in the San Pietro in Silki’s Church concert with the Nuoro Vocal Ensemble (male’s section) conducted by Franca Floris and the Genoa Vocal Ensemble.

Friday 11 at 6 pm, from Piazza Castello to Corso V. Emanuele, an itinerant show performed by Joyful Ensemble and conducted by Daniele Manca. At 9 pm in the San Francesco’s Church (Capuchin), the Turritano Polyphonic Choir conducted by Laura Lambroni and the Genoa Vocal Ensemble.

The Festival will finish on Saturday 12 with three concerts: the first one at 12 am, in the San Giacomo’s Church with the Vocal Group of the Choral Association “L. Canepa” conducted by Luca Sirigu; the second one at 6 pm in the Ersu courtyard in Via Coppino with the Female Choir “Eufonia” conducted by Mauro Lisei;
the last one at 9 pm in the Sacro Cuore’s Cathedral with Teneros di Bitti “Remunnu ‘e Locu” and the Female Choir “Eufonia” from Gavoi.
